I've said this before, but Nintendo could do so much with the Wii and online content. Imagine auto-downloaded, new fighters and maps into Smash Brothers Brawl, new areas added to games over time, just fresh, auto-downloaded content updating games all the time. Sure, sometimes they might charge for some larger things, but imagine games that could essentially evolve with new content over time. The Wii's power is definately on the "low end" of the spectrum when compared to the horse po...
I do think that all of these microtransactions and micro addons are really hurting the 360, in my honest opinion of course. I don't mind getting a few new maps here and there, but I don't want to pay like 10 dollars for three maps (hello there Halo 3 Heroic Pack, good thing your free now). It just creates too many different combinations of content out there. You can have a bunch of buddies with the same game, but different combinations of content because they didn't want to shell out for ever...
I have to agree and disagree with the part of PC gamers having to constantly upgrade their PC's to play games. To play the latest and most hardware demanding titles, yes, you will have to constantly upgrade, and even then the hardware available at the time will never be able to play them full out anyway. I've had my PC since late 2003 and only now am I finding that I'm starting to see the specs on games starting to reach over what I've got available to me. If a user really watches what they b...
Damn, this does sound fake. It's too bad really, it probably would have sold quite well. I own the Gamecube version so I've missed out on all the extra content that has come out since then. Plus, it doesn't do 16x9 either. A 360 version for myself would have been nice, and a PS3 version would be great for those gamers with the 40 gig version that never got a chance to play this classic before. The 20, 60 and 80 gig owners should be able to play the PS2 version though, I would think it is full...
I agree a remake of the original Perfect Dark would be great and a nice substitute. It would really be sticking it to Nintendo, so Microsoft would enjoy that, but the game was pretty good as well, so we gamers would benefit from it too. It ran like molasses on the N64, but I'm sure 60 fps nonstop on the 360 wouldn't be a problem. Add some extra levels to it, some tweaking here and there, and you have a fresh game.
It is my opinion that the only way we are ever going to see a release of this old classic is to get Wii gamers to pressure Nintendo into getting it released on the VC. And in order to do that, they are going to have to let microsoft release it on XBLA. Nintendo couldn't care less about xbox gamers or microsoft getting this game, but if their is a HUGE demand (and I am talking really huge here) for this game on the Wii then I'm sure they might, maybe, possibly, (they goddamn well better) agree...
One more thing. Microsoft shouldn't let EA and other companies do microtransactions like this anymore. I mean, sure it was bad enough when they did the horse armor thing with Oblivion (and that is Bethesda, not EA), but EA took it to a whole new level with games like the Godfather. Downloadable ingame money? WTF EA!?! I know it's all just money to microsoft, but you have got to have some standards. And also, all of those 400 MS point planes in Ace Combat 6, jeeze. I don't own the game, but th...
Good choice. But if I actually listed off every good to awesome game on 360, I would be here for awhile. Surprised nobody shouted something like Gears of War and the like.
Wow, now that is just a really terrible thing to do to customers. Really now, who does something like this. EA and all their microtransactions. And you know the guns are being stored on disc, they have to be. Otherwise nobody else would have the game data to be able to play against another gamer who has them. This better be some kind of terrible joke on their part.
I was really looking forward to buying this game, but if this is a sign of the way they want to treat their custom...
Wario (WarioWare)
Call us crazy, but Wario seems like the kind of guy that exposes himself on playgrounds. With that said, we have no intention of letting him remove his pants and joining him for some Minigames. Even worse, his constant and explosive farting nearly guarantees a few unwelcome "suprises" in those overalls.
Now that is funny. It's a poop joke, but who cares.
Now that is pretty damn innovative stuff he's talking about there. Wow, let's just forget the whole gambling thing for a second there. I mean, sure yeah I definately think it is cool, but let's get to the other stuff. Jump in co-op, now that will be a neat feature. But what if, in my game i've bought house's "X, Y and Z". Now, my buddy, in his game, bough houses X, Y, Z as well. Who owns the houses when you play co-op. IDK, maybe I'm thinking too much but it still sounds pretty cool...
I would so plunk down 800 MS points on a remake of Syndicate. That game was great back in the day. Mind you, playing that with a controller is no substitute for a good ol' mouse and keyboard. PC, PS3 and 360 remake is in order for sure.
Hopefully they've licensed the engine powering RAGE from iD software, I agree with previous posts, Doom 3's engine is definately dated. Then again, it did come out between console generations, kind of like bridging the previous generation of hardware and the next.
Prey was definately a little short, but not at all a bad game. I actually ordered the PC version and got the 360 disc (weird eh?), played through it on my xbox, sent it back to amazon and got a version with the PC dis...
Hmmm, well the plus side to this is maybe we'll here less 10-12 year olds over Live, that's always a good thing.
I was very disappointed with the port of doom when it came out. I mean, come on, they didn't do a thing to try and improve it. It even looks like it is running at 320x240. For shame. I'll continue to play that one on my PC (and with a nice source port like jDoom).
Commando 3, nice one.
I can't believe how long this game has been at 59.99 for. Even CoD4 has come down in price at most retail outlets, but this game is still 60 bucks. Damn popular and fun, that's for sure.
Now that is a more cost efficient concept then buying two copies of the same movie. UMDs definately where not the best way to go when DVD was already the standard. Awesome job on Sony's part, even if it is not the best selection out there it is a start.
Much DLC on the 360 can reach nearly a gigabyte, sometimes more even. All of those GRAW 2 downloads and R6V downloads take up a ton of HD space. Nope, just XBLA games had the problem, hopefully now this means it is all but gone.
Your local cable company has the bandwidth to push those movies through in real time. Microsoft can't do it because they don't have the bandwidth available over standard internet lines. Unless they really crammed it down in quality. You have to be able to download the movies, it just wouldn't work any other way at this point. My television company uses a high bandwidth DSL line to deliver on demand movies, and it comes through the standard phone line (neat eh), but my internet line is still s...
The one feature that I was waiting for for the longest time has been proper support for the 16x10 format (in some kind of letterbox format of the 16x9 image) found on most widescreen PC monitors and support for it's common resolutions (at least 1400x900 and 1680x1050, maybe 1920x1200 if the 360 could handle scaling to that). I'm of course talking about upscaling here. I have since moved on to a 1080p TV, but I'm sure many gamers are still waiting for proper support for their monitors. It woul...
